Church History
History: (after closing of Lowry Air Force Base)

When the base closed in 1994,
the Lowry congregation (many
of whom had worshiped
together since the service began),
agreed to continue to worship together.
This body of believers always saw
themselves as a church family,
not just a military chapel service.
From its embryonic stages, the entire
congregation was involved in building
this church. The mission of the
church was painstakingly established,
not just by its leaders, but by the
entire congregation. This attitude
of involvement and commitment
continues today in all
church activities.
History of Lowry (1975)

The Lowry Community Christian Church was born out of the Gospel
Service of the Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado,
Chapel Program. This service was started in 1975 for those
who were, according to the Air Force, "accustomed to worshiping
in a more robust fashion."

Lowry Community Christian Church is born (February 1994)
The church was officially incorporated as Lowry Community Christian Church
in February 1994. Services were held in the Lowry Chapel #1 facility until the base
closed in August 1994. Through numerous moves and tribulations, the church was
ultimately blessed with its current home at 855 Yosemite Street (in the nationally
recognized Lowry community). The Lord has both tested and blessed this church. But
through its many trials, this congregation has never wavered from its resolve to stay
together as a family of believers. God has a plan for this "Church with a Vision for
for The Mission" and that plan is to "Save Souls for the Cause of Christ."
